non-surgical foot care options

At Absolute Foot Care Specialists of Las Vegas, we provide our patients with the broadest, most comprehensive range of advanced, effective treatment options.

While that very much includes surgery for those who require it, we emphasize non-surgical care—including advanced techniques that have been able to eliminate the need for surgery in certain cases.

Advanced Conservative Care Options

Treatments include:

Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment (EPAT)

Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment is a non-invasive method that generates pulses of high-powered pressure waves. They are generated by an attached machine and are transferred deep into the skin using a hand-held device.

The pulse waves agitate the cells within a painful or injured area. This triggers a cascading healing response—improved circulation, increased metabolism, and a boosted supply of nutrients and healing factors. Over a series of sessions, the tissues continue to repair themselves at an accelerated rate, bringing rapid relief from pain.

Our patients love that this treatment does not require any medications or injections—and the fact that it actually works, too!

Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)

High-performance athletes have been using PRP therapy since at least the 1990s to return from injury as rapidly as possible. In the years since, this treatment technique has become much more widespread and accessible to the general public.

During the procedure, a small sample of your blood is extracted, then spun in a centrifuge to separate all the components. This allows us to remove non-essential cells and significantly increase the concentration of platelets. These platelets are packed with growth factors and proteins that are extremely important for cellular repair.

The platelet-rich mixture is injected back into your body at the site of injury. We use ultrasonic guidance to pinpoint the exact location where it is needed. PRP is extremely safe (it’s made from your own cells after all). Even for soft tissues like tendons, PRP can help you heal faster and avoid surgical downtime.

Combined Electrochemical Therapy (CECT)

CECT is a revolutionary combination therapy for peripheral neuropathy.

One component of the treatment is electronic signal therapy, which uses high-frequency electronic waves controlled and modulated by computer. These waves overload the nerve’s signal processes. They also help promote cellular changes that reduce swelling and remove excess fluids and toxins from the system. The other component is a localized anesthetic that provide more immediate pain relief.

CECT is exciting for many reasons. For one, it frequently allows neuropathy sufferers to reduce or eliminate their need to use often ineffective medications and narcotics. More than that, though, CECT offers a chance at some level of nerve healing and function restoration, because it treats contributing causes rather than just symptoms.

Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics are specially made shoe inserts designed to provide whatever your feet may be missing—extra cushioning, support for the arch, even motion control and stability for a wobbly ankle or gait.

Perhaps the simplest and most effective analogy is to think of orthotics as tools for the feet in the same way that glasses are tools for the eyes. You may have a particular defect with your foot structure that leads to pain or prevents your feet from working the way they should. But when you wear your orthotics, they help your feet operate with maximum function and minimum pain despite these defects.

Because they are personalized for each unique pair of feet, custom orthotics are of higher quality and can treat a wider range of conditions than over-the-counter insoles available at many grocery stores and pharmacies. We can help you determine whether you need a custom orthotic, and can fit and order them for you.
